1st prize 'Bag To The Future'

Anna Alida Racz won the 2015 Leather Design competition by Stichting Hester van Eeghen Leather Design.

Flower of Life

The challenge for this competition was to combine old & new. What does a bag look like in the future? Crafts with a hint of new technology.

Therefore the theme 'Flower of Life' -an ancient symbool that represents fundamental forms of time and space in visual expression of all creation- was redesigned for the bag where soft leather and metallics came together. Working with different layers to give it a strong and kind of mysterious look. The components of the bag are laser-cut and in the flap of the bag is a 3D component to involve inovative techniques.

The award ceremony was at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam during Meesterlijk.
After the award ceremony the winning bag was also exposed for a few weeks at Hendrikje (bagmuseum).
